Miss Personality

I'm having so much fun watching Sophie grow into her own personality every day. Here are some of my favorite moments lately:
  • Snuggling with strangers - Sophie is very affectionate and easily loves on friends of ours. But at a birthday party this weekend, she walked right up to a lady we had never met and raised her arms for 'up' to sit in her lap. It was so sweet! We're definitely going to have to keep an eye on her!
  • Playing jokes - Today, she was carrying my socks around and I asked her to bring them to me, which she did. But when I reached to take them out of her hand, she just smiled, yanked them back, and started laughing! It took a few tries to get them from her.
  • Dancing with the stars - We were watching DWTS and she started shaking it. I don't mean rocking side to side or anything so juvenile. I mean she was shaking her hips, dancing in circles, and putting her hands on her knees and bouncing her butt up and down like she was starring in a rap video! Hilarious! I tried to film it, but only got her going round in circles, which then led to her getting dizzy and running into the wall. Didn't get the crash on film or would be $10k richer thanks to America's Funnies Videos.
  • Prissy pants - We must have a 'girlie-girl' on our hands because when I'm getting ready in the morning, Sophie brings me headbands and asks me to put them on her. She'll end up with 2, 3, 4 headbands on her head. And she loves to go to the full length mirror and giggle at how cute she is. Then she'll bring me a bracelet and ask to put it on too. (I'll get a pic to post soon, mom!)

Can't wait to meet Audrey (yes, we have a name - at least a first name) and find out what she's going to be like. It is so much fun to discover who Sophie is and I know it's going to be just as special to get to know Audrey. Fun!

Notre Petite Fleur

Today, the family visited the Dallas Arboretum and the Dallas Blooms exhibit. The tulips, daffodils, azaleas and more are in bloom and it's absolutely beautiful. Sophie and I went a couple of weeks ago (and I forgot my camera!) and I've been dying to take Benoit (and my camera!). We took a picnic to enjoy overlooking White Rock Lake. The weather was perfect, the flowers were gorgeous, and it was a wonderful family day. I'm so blessed to have moments like this with the one's I love. Sophie was so cute in her new dress and new bow created by yours truly. My girlfriends and I had a bow making party last night, so this is my latest creation. Here are some of the best moments of the day with our little flower.

Playing catch up

I've been slacking on the blog and have lots to catch up on. This is a quick snapshot of what Sophie's been getting into lately. She has discovered the watering can in the backyard and enjoys carrying it around even though it's almost bigger than she is.

She has also discovered the small rake and likes to push it in big circles on the patio. Watch your ankles!
We traveled to LA (that's Lower Alabama for you yank's) for Easter. It was so much fun to visit with my mom and family back home. We have a huge reunion each year and we BBQ two pigs and literally pig out on good southern cooking. I love it, especially this year being pregnant. I ate so much food but have no regrets! My grandmother is the only living sibling of the original 12 brothers and sisters that are the heart of the reunion. All the children, grandchildren, great, and great-great's get together for a total of about 180 this year. It was wonderful to see everyone and to watch Sophie with my mom, grandmother, and cousins. She had a blast and so did we. Here are a few of my fave pics from the trip.
